Tolt alternatives for SaaS founders

The affiliate platforms SaaS founders shortlist against Tolt are AffiliateRail, Rewardful, FirstPromoter, Tapfiliate and Affonso. They differ most on payout fees and on whether the platform holds your money, which is the part the pricing pages tend to answer least clearly.

What are the main Tolt alternatives?

Five platforms come up in almost every shortlist next to Tolt. Rewardful and FirstPromoter are the established Stripe-native options, Tapfiliate reaches beyond SaaS into ecommerce, Affonso is the cheapest entry price in the category, and AffiliateRail is the non-custodial one. What follows is each one's published entry price and what it is actually good at.

1. AffiliateRail

AffiliateRail is affiliate program software for SaaS founders, built around one decision: AffiliateRail never holds the merchant's money. The merchant connects their own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account and AffiliateRail calls that rail with their credentials, taking 0% of every payout. Tracking rides the Stripe or Paddle reference field rather than a cookie an ad blocker can drop, the affiliate portal ships in thirteen languages on the merchant's own domain, and the tracking script reads the referral parameters other platforms use, so links affiliates published years ago keep converting through a migration.

2. Affonso

Affonso publishes the lowest entry price in the category at $15 a month and runs an affiliate marketplace for partner discovery. Their published pricing adds a per-thousand overage above each plan ceiling, and their managed payouts carry a per-invoice fee, a per-affiliate fee above 25 affiliates and a card surcharge.

How should a SaaS founder choose between them?

Start with the two questions the pricing pages answer least clearly. First, what does it cost to pay an affiliate, not to run the program: a percentage on payouts changes the bill far more than a $30 difference in plan price once your program works. Second, whose account does the money sit in when a payout runs, because that decides who carries the risk if a batch fails halfway. After those, the ordinary questions matter: does it read your billing provider properly, does the portal work in your customers' languages, and can you move away from it later without breaking the links your affiliates already published.

Common questions

What is the cheapest Tolt alternative?

On published entry prices, Affonso at $15 a month for programs earning under $1,000 a month of affiliate revenue. Above that ceiling the ordering changes, and their managed payouts carry a per-invoice fee, a per-affiliate fee above 25 affiliates and a card surcharge. The true-cost calculator compares the real monthly bill on six platforms at your own revenue.

Which Tolt alternative does not take a cut of payouts?

AffiliateRail takes 0% of every payout on every plan, because it never holds the money: the merchant connects their own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account and AffiliateRail calls that rail with their credentials. Payout fees at the other platforms are on the custody page with sources.

Can I move my affiliates and their balances to a different platform?

Yes, and you should check this before you commit to any platform. AffiliateRail imports affiliates, referral codes and outstanding balances from four affiliate platforms or from CSV, and its tracking script reads other platforms' referral parameters so previously published links keep converting through the cutover.
