What is the difference between AffiliateRail and Tapfiliate?

Tapfiliate is a broad, long-established platform that serves ecommerce as well as SaaS, and its published pricing starts at $89 a month. AffiliateRail does one category and one payout model: SaaS programs on Stripe or Paddle, paid from the merchant's own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account with nothing taken from the payout. If your program is not only SaaS, Tapfiliate's breadth is a genuine advantage.

What does each one cost?

These are the published plan prices on both sides, read from the same verified figures that drive our true-cost calculator. AffiliateRail's founding prices are held for the life of the subscription. The list price is what the plan costs once the founding places are gone.

Plan price is not the whole bill. What a program actually costs depends on payout fees and what happens in a good month, so the arithmetic on your own numbers lives on one page: the true-cost calculator.

Who holds the money when affiliates get paid?

Tapfiliate's payout handling depends on the route a merchant chooses, and their pricing page is the right place to confirm the current arrangement rather than a comparison page written by a competitor. AffiliateRail is non-custodial on every plan and every route: PayPal and Wise are automated through the merchant's own credentials, and Payoneer, bank transfer and international wire are paid by the merchant from a batch file AffiliateRail produces. AffiliateRail takes 0% either way. The custody page has each platform's own published position, with sources.

AffiliateRail is non-custodial on every plan. The merchant connects their own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account, AffiliateRail computes the ledger and calls that rail with the merchant's own credentials, and the money moves from the merchant's account to the affiliate's without passing through AffiliateRail. AffiliateRail takes 0% of every payout.

Where Tapfiliate is the better choice

No product wins on every axis, and a comparison page that pretends otherwise is not worth reading. Tapfiliate has been running affiliate programs for longer than most of this category and covers more of it.

How do you move a program from Tapfiliate?

AffiliateRail imports affiliates, referral codes and outstanding balances from four affiliate platforms or from CSV, and its tracking script reads other platforms' referral parameters so previously published links keep converting during a cutover. A dedicated Tapfiliate switch guide is being written. Until it lands, email support@affiliaterail.com and the import will be walked through with you.

Common questions

Is AffiliateRail cheaper than Tapfiliate?

On published plan prices, $29 a month founding against a published range starting at $89. Whether that difference holds for your program depends on payout costs and on whether you need the channels Tapfiliate covers and AffiliateRail does not. The true-cost calculator compares the real monthly bill on six platforms at your own revenue.

Should I choose Tapfiliate for an ecommerce program?

Probably, yes. AffiliateRail is built for SaaS on Stripe or Paddle and does not serve ecommerce or multi-channel programs. If your program spans more than SaaS subscriptions, Tapfiliate's breadth is the reason to pick it.

What does AffiliateRail do that Tapfiliate does not?

It never holds your money. The merchant connects their own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account and AffiliateRail calls that rail with their credentials, taking 0% of every payout. It also ships the affiliate portal in thirteen languages on the merchant's own domain from the $29 plan.

Can I move a Tapfiliate program across?

Affiliates, referral codes and balances import from CSV, and the tracking script reads other platforms' referral parameters so previously published links keep converting. A dedicated guide for this move is in progress; support@affiliaterail.com will walk it through in the meantime.
