What is the difference between AffiliateRail and FirstPromoter?
FirstPromoter is a mature and configurable platform, and configuration is the honest difference: it does more, and there is more to set up. AffiliateRail is narrower on purpose and non-custodial by design, paying affiliates from the merchant's own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account with 0% taken. On published pricing, automated payouts appear on FirstPromoter's Enterprise plan from $149 a month, and on AffiliateRail's $59 plan.

Will my affiliates' links keep working if I move?
Yes. FirstPromoter is unusual in how many link formats it supports, and AffiliateRail's tracking script reads all nine of the parameter formats its programs commonly use. A link published years ago still attributes to the right affiliate from the day the script goes on your site, which is what makes a parallel cutover possible.
What does FirstPromoter do better?
Depth. Multi-tier and sub-affiliate programs, more configuration, and more link formats. AffiliateRail is deliberately narrower, and if your program needs the structures FirstPromoter supports, that is a real reason to choose it.
Does the import bring balances across?
Yes. The importer connects to FirstPromoter's admin API with your API key and account id and brings affiliates, their referral codes and their outstanding balances, so nobody loses money they had already earned in the change.
