The difference
FirstPromoter is a mature and configurable platform. Configuration is the difference: it does more, and there is more to set up. AffiliateRail is narrower on purpose and non-custodial by design. It pays affiliates from your own PayPal or Wise account with 0% taken. On published pricing, automated payouts appear on FirstPromoter's Enterprise plan from $149 a month. Cost
Published plan prices on both sides. They come from the same verified figures that drive the calculator. Our founding price is held for the life of the subscription. The list price is what a plan costs once the founding places are gone.

01 Custody
FirstPromoter does not publish a payout fee on its pricing page. Automated payouts appear on its Enterprise tier. So the arrangement depends on the plan, and is worth asking about directly before you commit.
02 On AffiliateRail
AffiliateRail never holds it. You connect your own PayPal or Wise account. We work out who is owed what and tell your account to pay. The money goes from you to your affiliate and never passes through us.
So we take 0% of every payout, on every plan. There is no cut to take when the money never arrives. The custody page has every platform's own position, with sources.
03 The product
One dashboard for the program: affiliates, referrals, commissions and payouts. Your affiliates get a portal on your own domain, from the $29 plan. It comes in thirteen languages.

A referral parameter is the tracking code on the end of an affiliate link that says who sent the visitor, and the tracking script reads the nine formats FirstPromoter programs commonly use. Yes. FirstPromoter supports an unusual number of link formats. Our tracking script reads all nine of the parameter formats its programs commonly use. A link published years ago still credits the right affiliate from the day the script goes on your site. That is what makes a parallel cutover possible.
Depth. Multi-tier and sub-affiliate programs, more configuration, and more link formats. AffiliateRail is narrower on purpose. If your program needs the structures FirstPromoter supports, that is a real reason to choose it.
Yes. The importer connects to FirstPromoter's admin API with your API key and account id. It brings affiliates, their referral codes and their outstanding balances. Nobody loses money they had already earned in the change.
