What is the difference between AffiliateRail and Rewardful?

Rewardful has been running Stripe affiliate programs for years and it shows in the documentation and the integration list. AffiliateRail is the newer product and differs on one structural decision: it never holds the merchant's money. Rewardful's published pricing lists a 3% fee on payouts. AffiliateRail takes 0%, because the merchant pays affiliates from their own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account and AffiliateRail only calls that rail with their credentials.

What does each one cost?

These are the published plan prices on both sides, read from the same verified figures that drive our true-cost calculator. AffiliateRail's founding prices are held for the life of the subscription. The list price is what the plan costs once the founding places are gone.

Plan price is not the whole bill. What a program actually costs depends on payout fees and what happens in a good month, so the arithmetic on your own numbers lives on one page: the true-cost calculator.

Who holds the money when affiliates get paid?

Rewardful's published pricing lists a 3% fee on payouts, and payouts route through the platform rather than from the merchant's own account. AffiliateRail is non-custodial on every plan, which is why its payout fee is 0%: there is no cut to take when the money never arrives. Neither arrangement is wrong, and the trade is convenience against control. The custody page sets out what each platform's own material says, with sources and dates.

AffiliateRail is non-custodial on every plan. The merchant connects their own PayPal Payouts or Wise Business account, AffiliateRail computes the ledger and calls that rail with the merchant's own credentials, and the money moves from the merchant's account to the affiliate's without passing through AffiliateRail. AffiliateRail takes 0% of every payout.

Where Rewardful is the better choice

No product wins on every axis, and a comparison page that pretends otherwise is not worth reading. Rewardful is the most mature product on this list and there are real reasons to choose it over a product that launched this year.

How do you move a program from Rewardful?

AffiliateRail imports affiliates, referral codes and outstanding balances from four affiliate platforms or from CSV, and the tracking script reads other platforms' referral parameters so previously published links keep converting during a cutover. A dedicated Rewardful switch guide is being written; until it lands, the general import path and the parallel-running approach in the other switch guides apply. Email support@affiliaterail.com and it will be walked through with you.

Common questions

Is AffiliateRail cheaper than Rewardful?

On published plan prices, $29 against $49 at entry and $99 against $149 at the top of their published range. The bigger difference for a working program is the payout fee: Rewardful's pricing lists 3% on payouts, AffiliateRail takes 0%. On $8,000 of monthly affiliate payouts that difference is $240 a month, which is more than either plan costs. The true-cost calculator runs it on your own numbers.

What does Rewardful do better?

Documentation and track record, honestly. Rewardful has been running Stripe affiliate programs for years, its documentation is the most complete in the category, and its integration list is longer. If your decision is weighted toward maturity over payout economics, that is a reasonable way to weight it.

Does AffiliateRail work with Stripe the same way?

Both read Stripe. AffiliateRail rides the billing provider's own reference field rather than depending on a cookie, so an ad blocker cannot lose a conversion, and subscriptions, upgrades, cancellations and refunds flow back and correct the commission on their own. Paddle is supported as well as Stripe.

Can I move a Rewardful program to AffiliateRail?

Yes. Affiliates, referral codes and balances import from CSV or directly from four platforms, and because the tracking script reads other platforms' referral parameters, the links your affiliates already published keep working through the change. A dedicated Rewardful guide is in progress.
