Comparison

AffiliateRail vs Komissio

Komissio and AffiliateRail agree on the big thing. Neither takes a cut of what you pay affiliates. Komissio is a flat $49 a month for fifty active affiliates at any volume, $99 for unlimited. AffiliateRail is $29 founding to $10,000 a month, then $59 and $99. So with under fifty affiliates and a big month, Komissio is cheaper. The real difference is the payout method. Komissio pays through Stripe Connect from your Stripe account, to an affiliate's Stripe account. AffiliateRail pays from your PayPal or Wise. Pick by where your affiliates can get paid.

The difference

What is the difference between AffiliateRail and Komissio?

Less than most pages on this site. Both are flat-fee tools that never touch your money and take 0% of payouts. Both track through Stripe with first-party cookies on your own domain. Two things differ. Komissio's plans count active affiliates, fifty on Starter, and pay through Stripe Connect, so each affiliate needs a Stripe account. AffiliateRail's plans count the revenue affiliates earn you, with no limit on affiliates, and pay from your own PayPal or Wise, which reach countries Stripe does not. If every affiliate you have is in a Stripe country, Komissio is a fair choice.

Cost

What does each one cost?

Published plan prices on both sides. They come from the same verified figures that drive the calculator. Our founding price is held for the life of the subscription. The list price is what a plan costs once the founding places are gone.

PlanCeilingPriceAutomated payouts
AffiliateRail Launchto $10,000 a month$29 founding, $59 afterNo
AffiliateRail Growto $20,000 a month$59 founding, $89 afterYes

Plan price is not the whole bill. A payout fee is a slice the platform takes out of the money you send your partners. It is charged on top of your plan, and a good month changes it. The true-cost calculator does the arithmetic on your own numbers.

01 Custody

Who holds the money when affiliates get paid?

Here is the part that is the same, and it matters.

Komissio's home page says "Approve a batch, Stripe sends the money, everyone gets a receipt", and affiliates are "paid to their Stripe account". Its own guide to Stripe Connect says the money goes from your Stripe account to the affiliate's bank. Komissio never holds it, so there is nothing to take a cut of, and its page prints 0%.

AffiliateRail works the same way with a different payout method. It works out who is owed what, then logs into your own PayPal or Wise on a schedule and pays them. The money leaves your account and lands in theirs. The difference is where an affiliate can receive it. Stripe Connect needs a Stripe account, which not every country can open. PayPal and Wise reach further.

02 On AffiliateRail

Where does the money go on AffiliateRail?

AffiliateRail never holds it. You connect your own PayPal or Wise account. We work out who is owed what and tell your account to pay. The money goes from you to your affiliate and never passes through us.

So we take 0% of every payout, on every plan. There is no cut to take when the money never arrives. The custody page has every platform's own position, with sources.

03 The product

What does the product look like?

One dashboard for the program: affiliates, referrals, commissions and payouts. Your affiliates get a portal on your own domain, from the $29 plan. It comes in thirteen languages.

Tracking rides the Stripe or Paddle reference field. Not a cookie an ad blocker can drop. Payouts run from your own PayPal or Wise account on a schedule. The founder answers support.

Every screen, from its own menu. Recorded on a demo program.

In their words

What Komissio's own terms say

Payouts on the schedule you set. Approve a batch, Stripe sends the money, everyone gets a receipt.

The same custody model as ours, through Stripe Connect instead of PayPal or Wise. The money goes from your account to theirs, which is why Komissio can print 0%.

Credit where due

Where Komissio is the better choice

No product wins on every axis. A comparison page that pretends otherwise is not worth reading. Komissio is a flat-fee peer, and for a Stripe-only program with under fifty affiliates it may be the better one. There are good reasons to pick it over us.

  • A flat price that never moves with revenue. Fifty affiliates for $49 at $100,000 a month. Ours is $99 at $50,000 and custom above.

  • Stripe Connect payouts with receipts. The affiliate sees a balance and a firm date, and the money lands in a Stripe account with no PayPal email to chase.

  • Links on your own subdomain, like go.yourapp.com/r/name. No tracking domain for an ad blocker to see, and a cleaner link for a partner to share.

  • Shopify as well as Stripe, and a listing on both app marketplaces. A SaaS that also sells through Shopify has one program for both.

  • Batch payouts as a CSV or XML export on Growth, for anyone who pays through their bank instead.

Switching

How do you move a program from Komissio?

There is no Komissio importer yet. So the move runs on CSV. Komissio's Growth plan exports payout batches as CSV; ask their support for affiliates and referred customers. The importer does a practice run first. The links are the interesting part. Komissio links are a path on your own subdomain, which our script does not read, but the subdomain is yours, so a redirect rule keeps them alive. The money moves from Stripe Connect to your own PayPal or Wise.

Questions

Common questions

Is AffiliateRail cheaper than Komissio?

Not always. Komissio is a flat $49 for fifty active affiliates at any volume. AffiliateRail is $29 founding to $10,000 a month, then $59 and $99. Past fifty affiliates Komissio is $99, and AffiliateRail stays where it is. Neither takes a cut. Run your own numbers on the calculator.

Does Komissio hold my money?

No. You approve a batch and Stripe sends it from your Stripe account to each affiliate's Stripe account. Komissio's page prints 0%, and its own guide says the money goes from your account to theirs. AffiliateRail works the same way through PayPal or Wise.

What does Komissio do that AffiliateRail does not?

Pay through Stripe Connect, with receipts and a firm date. Put the link on your own subdomain. Read Shopify. Hold a flat price at any revenue. If any of those decide it for you, Komissio is the better buy.

Will my affiliates' links break if I move?

Not if you keep the subdomain. A Komissio link is a path, like go.yourapp.com/r/name, and our script reads tags, not paths. But the subdomain is yours. A redirect rule sending /r/name to your site with ?rail=name keeps every old link paying. The switch guide shows it.
