Alternatives

PromoteKit alternatives for SaaS founders

The platforms SaaS founders weigh against PromoteKit are AffiliateRail, Tolt, Rewardful, FirstPromoter, Tapfiliate, Affonso, Partnero and Trackdesk. Most cost more at entry than PromoteKit's free tier. They differ on whether payouts run themselves, and on whether the platform takes a cut.

The shortlist

What are the main PromoteKit alternatives?

PromoteKit is one of the cheapest ways into this category, so most alternatives cost more a month and offer more for it. Tolt, Rewardful and FirstPromoter are the established Stripe-native tools. Affonso is the other cheap entry. Partnero sets no revenue ceiling. Tapfiliate and Trackdesk reach past SaaS. AffiliateRail is the non-custodial one with scheduled payouts. Here is each one's published entry price and what it is good at.

01 Custody

Who holds the money when affiliates get paid?

AffiliateRail never holds it. You connect your own PayPal or Wise account. We work out who is owed what and tell your account to pay. The money goes from you to your affiliate and never passes through us.

So we take 0% of every payout, on every plan. There is no cut to take when the money never arrives. The custody page has every platform's own position, with sources.

02 The product

What does the product look like?

One dashboard for the program: affiliates, referrals, commissions and payouts. Your affiliates get a portal on your own domain, in thirteen languages, from the $29 plan.

Tracking rides the Stripe or Paddle reference field, not a cookie an ad blocker can drop. Payouts run from your own PayPal or Wise account on a schedule. The founder answers support.

Choosing

How should a SaaS founder choose between them?

Start with the question PromoteKit answers well and most platforms answer differently. Then ask the two the pricing pages skip.

First

Who does the payout work?

On PromoteKit you upload a file each month. Some alternatives run the payout for you, from your own account or from theirs. Decide how much of that you want to do by hand.

Second

What does it cost to pay an affiliate?

PromoteKit takes nothing. Several alternatives take a percentage or a fee per invoice once payouts are automated. A $30 difference in plan price is smaller than that.

Then

Whose account holds the money?

If a platform runs the payout, ask whose account the money sits in during the run. That decides who carries the risk if a batch fails halfway.

Questions

Common questions

What is the cheapest PromoteKit alternative?

On published entry prices, Affonso at $15 a month, to $1,000 a month of affiliate revenue. AffiliateRail is $29 a month founding to $10,000. PromoteKit's own free tier is cheaper than either for the first three referrals. The true-cost calculator compares the real monthly bill on nine platforms at your revenue.

Which PromoteKit alternative runs payouts for me without taking a cut?

AffiliateRail sends the payout from your own PayPal or Wise account on a schedule, from the $59 plan, and takes 0%. Partnero automates PayPal and Wise from your own account with no Partnero fee, and offers a managed route at 7%. The custody page has each platform's own published position.

Can I move my affiliates from PromoteKit to another platform?

Yes. Export your affiliates and history from PromoteKit, or pull them through its API, and import the CSV. AffiliateRail's importer dry-runs first and can roll back. Its tracking script reads PromoteKit's via parameter, so published links keep converting through the cutover.
