Tolt review: what its own pages say about price, auto payouts, the per-plan counts and the branded portal

By Jimi Barkway · Published 7 September 2026 · Part of the comparison pages

In brief

Tolt is affiliate software for SaaS on Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee. Basic is $69 to $10,000 a month earned from affiliates, Growth $99 to $20,000, Pro $199 to $50,000, then Enterprise. Every plan has unlimited affiliates and a branded portal on your own domain. A commission flow is a rule for what an affiliate earns, and Basic has three. Auto payouts, where Tolt pays the affiliates, start on Growth at 2% plus $8 an invoice by bank or 4% by card, with W-9 and W-8 collection and 1099 filing bundled. Fourteen days free, no card, and a 30-day refund.

What is Tolt, and who is it for?

In shortTolt is "Affiliate Marketing software for SaaS startups". It starts at $69 a month. It reads sales from Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee. Affiliates get a branded portal on your own domain on every plan. From its $99 plan it pays them for you through auto payouts, at 2% plus an invoice fee, with tax forms and 1099 filing bundled.

The research method was simple. This review is built from Tolt's own pricing page, homepage and help centre, read on 6 and 7 September 2026. Its terms were read on 20 August. No third-party review scores, no user quotes. Each section says what the pages say and where a claim was not on them. AffiliateRail appears once in the body, at the end, as an alternative with its own trade-offs.

Three words first. A revenue band is the range of monthly affiliate revenue a plan covers before the next plan applies. A commission flow on Tolt is a rule that decides what an affiliate earns on a sale. And auto payouts is Tolt's route where you pay one invoice and Tolt pays the affiliates. Those three shape most of its pricing page.

We have a 30 days refund policy. So, if either affiliate marketing or Tolt is not the right fit for your SaaS, then you can request a full refund within 30 days, no questions asked.

What does Tolt cost?

In short$69, $99 or $199 a month, banded by how much your affiliates earn, then Enterprise on request. Basic covers up to $10,000 a month. Growth covers up to $20,000. Pro covers up to $50,000. Every plan has a 14-day trial with no card, and a 30-day refund.

The bands are wide. Let's say your affiliates bring in $6,000 a month. You are on Basic at $69. At $12,000 you are on Growth at $99. At $18,000 you are still on Growth. At $25,000 you are on Pro at $199. So the price doubles at $20,000, not before. Rewardful and FirstPromoter start at $49. From $15,000 to $20,000 both move to Enterprise. Tolt's $99 holds there.

The FAQ answers the buyer's first three questions. Trial: "we do not require a credit card for our trial." Refund: "We have a 30 days refund policy", and you "can request a full refund within 30 days, no questions asked". Setup: the page's button promises a launch "within 15 minutes".

What is on each plan?

In shortBasic has the tracking, the branded portal on your own domain, and manual payouts. Growth adds auto payouts, tax forms, affiliate invoices, customisable emails and the removal of the powered-by link. Pro removes the caps on programs, groups, team members and flows. The rows most founders hit first are the counts and the payout route.

The counts are printed per plan. Basic: "2 programs", "3 partner groups", "3 team members", "3 commission flows". Growth: 5 of each. Pro: unlimited. A program is one affiliate program. A partner group is a set of affiliates. A commission flow is a rule. So on Basic you can run two programs with three rules between them. That covers a main product and a second one.

What Basic does not have is on the page in plain text. "Auto payouts", "Customizable email notifications" and "No powered by link" are listed for Basic but sit outside its included set. So a Basic affiliate portal carries Tolt's link, and a Basic merchant exports a file to pay. What every plan has: "Unlimited affiliates and referrals", "Custom domain and branded portal", "Resources page", "Custom affiliate commissions" and "Double sided rewards (coupons)".

How does Tolt pay affiliates?

In shortTwo ways. On Basic, you export a CSV and pay from your own PayPal or Wise. From Growth, auto payouts. Tolt sends you an invoice for the cycle. You pay it. Tolt pays the affiliates. The fee is 2% of the payout, plus $8 an invoice by bank transfer or 4% by card. Tax forms and 1099 filing come with it.

The manual route first. The help centre: you "export a CSV file with payout details if the payout term has passed and the minimum payout threshold is met". Then you pay with "PayPal Payouts, Wise Batch Payment, or bank transfers". The homepage names "PayPal Mass Payments or Wise Batch Payment" for the export.

The auto route second. The pricing page: "Auto payouts (fast global payouts with 2% processing fee)". The invoice: "A fixed $8 processing fee applies to each bank transfer payment." Or "A 4% processing fee applies to card payments." Cards can be set to "Auto-charge invoices". Before each payout date "you'll receive a draft invoice containing the eligible payouts for that cycle". After you pay, "Tolt will begin processing your partner payouts". Partners must "complete the required tax information and add a valid payout method" to be included.

The arithmetic. A payout fee is a cut taken from the money on its way to the affiliate. On $2,500 of monthly payouts, the 2% is $50. By bank that is $50 plus $8, about $58. By card it is $50 plus $100, about $150. Partners can be paid by "local bank transfers, wire transfers, PayPal, Wise, and crypto payments". But "with auto payouts enabled, partners can select any payout method supported by Tolt, except crypto payments".

What the route means for the money is in Tolt's terms. Tolt pays the affiliates from money you have paid it, under a "limited authorized agent" construct. So the money passes through Tolt. The custody page has this in Tolt's own words beside every other vendor's. The tax-forms page covers what Growth's W-9, W-8 and 1099 rows do.

How does the tracking work?

In shortA script of "around 4KB" that leaves a referral id at window.tolt_referral. You pass that id to your billing system. As metadata on Stripe. As custom data on Paddle. As a custom field or metadata on Chargebee. The billing system's webhook brings the sale back. Tolt offers client-side and server-side routes.

The Stripe guide: "You'll need to send a Tolt generated unique ID to Stripe via metadata". It is read from window.tolt_referral. It goes on a subscription or a checkout session. For Payment Links, a body script rewrites every buy.stripe.com link when the referral exists. The Paddle Billing guide uses customData. The Chargebee guide uses a custom field named cf_tolt_referral, or meta_data through the API.

The homepage: "Integrate Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee within 15 minutes". And: "Client and server side options". The pricing FAQ says "you can only integrate Tolt if your SaaS/app is using either Stripe or Paddle". The comparison block on the same page says "Integrates with Chargebee". The help centre has a Chargebee guide.

Cancellations, from the FAQ: when Stripe or Paddle reports one, "we stop calculating commissions for the appropriate affiliate". On refunds it deducts. The pages read do not print a default cookie window. A cookie window is how long after a click a sale still counts. This is the one figure to ask Tolt for before you invite anyone.

What should you check before you buy?

In shortFour things. Whether you bill through Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee, because nothing else connects. Whether two programs and three flows are enough, because more means Growth. Whether you want auto payouts, because that is $99 and a 2% fee. And whether the powered by link on the Basic portal matters to you.

The API is public. It uses a Bearer key from Settings, Integrations, and allows "25 requests per second". It covers programs, partners, customers, clicks, links, commissions, transactions and promotion codes, with a llms.txt index of the docs. Its own line: "Each API key has full access to all API endpoints." The API comparison has it beside ten others.

For example, imagine a Stripe SaaS with one product and a handful of affiliates. The founder pays them from PayPal once a month. Basic covers it at $69 until $10,000 a month, with a branded portal from day one. Now imagine forty affiliates in three countries. The founder wants the payouts, the W-9s and the 1099s handled. That is Growth at $99 plus 2% and $8 an invoice. Now imagine six products at six rates. That is Pro.

Who should pick Tolt, and who should look elsewhere?

In shortPick it if you bill through Stripe, Paddle Billing or Chargebee. Pick it for a branded portal on your own domain from the entry plan. Pick it if you sit between $15,000 and $20,000 a month, where its $99 holds, or want tax forms and 1099 filing bundled with the payout. Look elsewhere if you are under $7,500 a month and price is the deciding line. Look elsewhere if you need auto payouts at the entry plan, or sell through a shop.

The side-by-side pages go further. Tolt vs Rewardful covers the band where each is cheaper. Tolt vs FirstPromoter covers the two managed routes. And the alternatives round-up lists every tool this site has priced beside it.

An alternative, with its own trade-offs. AffiliateRail is $29 a month founding to $10,000 a month from affiliates, then $59 to $20,000, then $99 to $50,000. It pays affiliates from your own PayPal or Wise on a schedule, at 0% of the payout, from the $59 plan. The money never passes through the tool. It reads Stripe and Paddle Billing, not Chargebee. It has a branded portal and unlimited affiliates on every plan, and no powered-by link to remove. Its script reads the tolt parameter, so links published on Tolt keep converting after a move. The comparison page sets the two side by side, and the switch guide covers the export.

How much does Tolt cost?

$69 a month on Basic, up to $10,000 a month earned from affiliates. $99 on Growth, up to $20,000. $199 on Pro, up to $50,000. Enterprise above that, on request. Every plan has a 14-day trial with no credit card, and Tolt refunds within 30 days, no questions asked. Auto payouts, from Growth, add 2% of each payout plus $8 per invoice by bank transfer or 4% by card.

Which billing systems does Tolt support?

Stripe, Paddle Billing, Paddle Classic and Chargebee, each with its own setup guide in the help centre. The pricing FAQ says only Stripe or Paddle, while the comparison block on the same page and the help centre add Chargebee.

How do Tolt's auto payouts work?

Before each payout date Tolt sends a draft invoice for the eligible payouts. You pay it, by bank transfer with a fixed $8 fee or by card with a 4% fee, and Tolt pays the affiliates through PayPal, Wise, local bank or wire. The fee on the payout itself is 2%. Partners must complete tax information and add a payout method to be included. On $2,500 of monthly payouts that is about $58 by bank or about $150 by card. Growth bundles W-9 and W-8 collection, 1099 filing and affiliate invoices.

What does Tolt's Basic plan include?

Unlimited affiliates and referrals, manual payouts by CSV, a resources page, a custom domain and branded portal, 2 programs, 3 partner groups, 3 team members, 3 commission flows, custom affiliate commissions, double-sided coupon rewards and email notifications.
