Tolt vs Rewardful

Tolt vs Rewardful: who is cheaper in each band, and two managed payout routes at two prices

By Jimi Barkway · Published 7 September 2026 · Part of the comparison pages

In brief

Rewardful is $49 to $7,500 a month of affiliate revenue, then $99 to $15,000, then Enterprise from $149. Tolt is $69 to $10,000, then $99 to $20,000, then $199 to $50,000. So Rewardful wins under $7,500. Tolt wins from $7,500 to $10,000 and from $15,000 to $20,000. A payout fee is a cut the tool takes from the money on its way to the affiliate. Rewardful's Managed Payouts cost a flat 3%, by request, with no plan change stated. Tolt's auto payouts cost 2% plus $8 an invoice by bank, from its $99 plan, with W-9 and W-8 collection and 1099 filing bundled. Tolt reads Chargebee and Paddle Billing. Rewardful reads Paddle Classic, not Paddle Billing.

Tolt or Rewardful: what is the short answer?

In shortRewardful starts at $49, Tolt at $69. Both step to $99. Tolt's $99 plan covers more revenue. Both read Stripe and Paddle. Tolt reads Chargebee and Paddle Billing too. Both can pay your affiliates for you. Rewardful for a flat 3%. Tolt for 2% plus an invoice fee, on its $99 plan and above. Tolt bundles tax forms with that. Rewardful has an affiliate search engine.

The research method was simple. I read both pricing pages, both homepages and both help centres on 6 and 7 September 2026. I put the same questions to each. Price and ceiling. Who pays the affiliates and what it costs. Which billing systems it reads. How tracking works. Tax forms. The API. The links are in the sources. AffiliateRail appears once in the body, at the end, as a third option with its own trade-offs.

Three words first. A revenue band is the range of monthly affiliate revenue a plan covers before the next plan applies. A payout fee is a cut the tool takes from the money on its way to the affiliate, on top of the monthly price. A cookie window is how long after a click a sale still counts for the affiliate. Attribution is the job of deciding which affiliate gets credited for a sale. A webhook is a message your billing system sends to the tool when something happens, such as a paid invoice. And last touch is the attribution rule that credits the last affiliate link a customer clicked, where first touch credits the first. Those decide most of this comparison.

What does each one cost as you grow?

In shortRewardful is cheaper under $7,500. Tolt is cheaper from $7,500 to $10,000, and from $15,000 to $20,000. Rewardful's Starter is $49 to $7,500 a month. Tolt's Basic is $69 to $10,000. Both second plans are $99. Tolt's covers $20,000 and Rewardful's $15,000. Above that, Rewardful is Enterprise from $149. Tolt's Pro is $199 to $50,000.

Let's say your affiliates bring in $6,000 a month. Rewardful is $49, Tolt $69. At $8,000 Rewardful has passed $7,500 and is on Growth at $99. Tolt is still on Basic at $69. At $12,000 both are $99. At $18,000 Tolt is still $99 on Growth. Rewardful is Enterprise from $149. So Rewardful wins under $7,500. Tolt wins from $7,500 to $10,000, by $30. They match from $10,000 to $15,000. Tolt wins again from $15,000 to $20,000.

Both give 14 days free. Tolt's page says "No credit card required" on the Basic, Growth and Pro buttons. Rewardful's page does not say either way. Both refund within 30 days, "no questions asked" on both pages. Rewardful's line applies to a monthly plan. Rewardful gives two months free on annual billing.

Who pays the affiliates, and what does it cost?

In shortOn both, you can export a file and pay from your own PayPal or Wise. Tolt's Basic plan is "Manual payouts" only. Rewardful's Starter includes PayPal mass payouts and Wise bulk payouts. The managed routes differ in price. They differ in what comes with them too.

Tolt's is auto payouts, on Growth and above. The pricing page: "Auto payouts (fast global payouts with 2% processing fee)". Then the invoice. "A fixed $8 processing fee applies to each bank transfer payment." Or "A 4% processing fee applies to card payments." Before each payout date you get a draft invoice. You pay it, and "Tolt will begin processing your partner payouts". Partners must "complete the required tax information and add a valid payout method" to be included. On $2,500 of monthly payouts, that is $50 plus $8 by bank. By card it is $50 plus $100, about $150.

Rewardful's is Managed Payouts, by asking support, with no plan change stated. "Managed Payouts has a flat 3% processing fee on each payout. There are no additional subscription costs for merchants." You fund it with an ACH-capable method and pay an invoice by hand. Affiliates withdraw from their Rewardful dashboard. They "may incur withdrawal fees". On $2,500 that is $75. So Tolt by bank is cheaper on the fee. Rewardful's route names no plan.

What comes with Tolt's route is the tax paperwork. Growth lists "Collecting W-9/W-8 forms and filing 1099s" and "Invoices for affiliates". A 1099 is the US form a payer files for money paid to a contractor. Rewardful's Managed Payouts page says affiliates "go through KYC as required". Its pricing page does not mention tax forms. The tax-forms page has both in the vendors' words.

What about the API?

In shortBoth publish one. Tolt's uses a Bearer key and allows 25 requests a second. Rewardful's uses HTTP Basic with your API secret and allows 45 requests per 30 seconds. Tolt's covers programs, partners, customers, clicks, links, commissions, transactions and promotion codes. Rewardful's covers campaigns, affiliates, links, coupons, referrals, commissions and payouts, with signed webhooks.

REST API access is on Rewardful's Starter plan. Tolt's keys come from its Settings, Integrations tab. The API comparison sets both beside nine others.

Which billing systems does each read?

In shortTolt reads Stripe, both Paddle versions and Chargebee. Rewardful reads Stripe and Paddle Classic. On the current Paddle product, or on Chargebee, Tolt is the one that connects.

Tolt's help centre has separate setup guides for Stripe, Paddle Billing, Paddle Classic and Chargebee. Its homepage says "Integrate Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee within 15 minutes". Its pricing FAQ says only Stripe or Paddle. The comparison block on the same page, and the help centre, add Chargebee.

Rewardful's FAQ: "We currently support only Stripe or Paddle." And its Paddle article: "At present, Rewardful supports integration only with Paddle Classic, not Paddle Billing." On Stripe both connect by authorisation and read webhooks. Rewardful's help centre lists what it writes to your Stripe and what it cannot do. Tolt's pages read here do not. Tolt sends the click as metadata named tolt_referral. Rewardful looks for a referral attribute in the customer metadata.

How does tracking work on each?

In shortBoth use a first-party cookie and a script. Tolt's script is "around 4KB" and leaves the id at window.tolt_referral. Rewardful's link is a clean parameter, ?via=justin, with no redirect. Its cookie is 60 days by default, per campaign. Tolt's cookie default is not printed on the pages read.

Rewardful: "By default Rewardful has a standard 60-day cookie retention policy (cookie window), but this value can be configured for each campaign." Its pricing page lists "First or last touch attribution", "Coupon code tracking" and "Self-referral fraud detection" on Starter. Its features page adds automated refund handling.

Tolt's pricing page lists "Double sided rewards (coupons)" and "Custom affiliate commissions" on every plan. Its FAQ covers refunds. When Stripe or Paddle reports a cancellation, "we stop calculating commissions for the appropriate affiliate". On refunds it deducts. Tolt offers "Client and server side options". Its programs, partner groups, team members and commission flows are counted per plan. 2, 3, 3 and 3 on Basic. 5 of each on Growth. Unlimited on Pro.

Rewardful has one thing Tolt's pages do not mention. The Affiliate Finder, "a built-in Affiliate Finder search engine that tries to surface proven affiliates around the web based on queries you run", paid in credits. Tolt has one thing Rewardful's do not. A branded portal on every plan. Rewardful's branded portal and custom domain start on Growth.

Which one should you pick?

In shortTolt if you bill through Chargebee or Paddle Billing. Tolt if you want the branded portal on the entry plan. Tolt if you sit from $7,500 to $10,000, or from $15,000 to $20,000 a month, where it is cheaper. Rewardful if you are under $7,500 a month. Rewardful if you want the Affiliate Finder, or a managed route that names no plan.

The payout route is the other axis. Both hold the money on their managed routes. Both charge for it. Tolt's is 2% plus a bank fee, bundled with tax forms and invoices, from $99. Rewardful's is 3% flat, by request. If you would rather pay from your own PayPal or Wise, both hand you the file. Rewardful's Starter lists "PayPal mass payouts" and "Wise bulk payouts". Tolt's Basic lists "Manual payouts".

A third option, with its own trade-offs. AffiliateRail is $29 a month founding to $10,000 a month from affiliates, then $59 to $20,000, then $99 to $50,000. It pays affiliates from your own PayPal or Wise on a schedule, at 0% of the payout, from the $59 plan. So the money never sits with the tool. It reads Stripe and Paddle Billing only. So a Chargebee merchant should stop at Tolt. It has no affiliate finder. Its script reads the tolt and via parameters. So links published on either tool keep converting after a move. The Tolt and Rewardful pages set it beside each, and the Tolt and Rewardful switch guides cover the export.
