Affiliate software for SaaS

Affiliate software for SaaS: twenty tools on one table, and the five checks that decide it

By Jimi Barkway · Published 7 September 2026 · Part of the comparison pages

In brief

Twenty tools run affiliate programs for SaaS, from free to $500 a month. They charge three ways: a flat price, a price banded by affiliate revenue, or a cut of every payout on top. A payout fee is that cut, taken from the money on its way to the affiliate, and it decides more of the bill than the price does. Check the billing system first, because it is the only test that turns a tool into a no. Then who holds the money, the fee, the price shape, and what happens to links already published.

What is affiliate software for SaaS?

In shortA tool that runs an affiliate program for a subscription business. It gives each affiliate a link, records who arrived through it, reads your billing system when that visitor pays, works out the commission, and pays it. Twenty such tools are on the table below, priced from free to $500 a month.

The research method was simple. Every price and fee here is from each vendor's own pricing page, read between 1 and 7 September 2026 and kept in the calculator's data file. The billing systems and trials are from each vendor's own docs, read on the same days. I found twenty tools, four with a free tier, and three ways of charging. The links are in the sources.

Four words first. An affiliate is a person who sends you customers for a share of what they pay. An affiliate program is your standing offer to them: the link, the commission, the rules. Affiliate software is the tool that runs that program, from the click to the money. And a payout fee is a cut the tool takes from the money on its way to the affiliate, on top of the monthly price. That last one decides more of the bill than the price does.

Affiliates is already active, but you don't need to use it for your store.

How do these tools charge?

In shortThree ways. A flat monthly price. A price banded by how much revenue your affiliates bring in. And a cut of every payout, on top of either. Roughly a third of the twenty take a published cut. Roughly half pay from your own account and take nothing. The rest do not say.

Flat is the simplest. Partnero is $59 with no ceiling. Refgrow starts at $29. Trackdesk is $399. You know the bill before the month starts. Banded prices climb as your program grows. AffiliateRail's Launch plan covers up to $10,000 a month of affiliate revenue at $29 founding, then Grow at $59 to $20,000, then Scale at $99 to $50,000. Tolt's bands run $69, $99 and $199 over the same three ceilings. Rewardful's Starter stops at $7,500.

The cut is the line to read twice. Let's say your affiliates bring in $10,000 a month and you pay 25% commission. That is $2,500 of payouts. Dub takes 5% of it, $125. PartnerStack takes 10%, $250. Rewardful takes 3% on Managed Payouts, $75. Tolt takes 2% on auto payouts plus $8 an invoice, so $50 and the invoice. Reditus takes $50 by invoice or $125 by card. Impact takes nothing, because $2,500 sits inside its allowance, and 20% above it.

The own-account tools take nothing from that $2,500. AffiliateRail, PromoteKit, Partnero, Refgrow, LeadDyno and refVenue all pay from an account with your name on it. What you pay instead is the payout method's own fee. PayPal's Payouts fee is a flat 0.25 USD a payment by API in US dollars. Wise sends from 0.24%. On $2,500 across thirty affiliates that is a few dollars, not a few hundred. The calculator runs all twenty on your own figures.

What should you check first?

In shortFive things, in this order, because each one removes tools before you compare prices. Which billing system it reads. Who holds the money. What it takes from each payout. Whether the price is flat or banded. And what happens to links your affiliates already published.

The billing system first. If you bill through Stripe, every tool on the table that states a billing system works. If you bill through Paddle, ten do. Through Chargebee, three. Through Lemon Squeezy, four, and Lemon Squeezy has its own program built in at 3% of each referred order. Through Polar, three. The Paddle, Chargebee, Lemon Squeezy and Polar pages walk each one. Do this check first. It is the only one that turns a tool into a no. The other four rank the tools that are left.

Who holds the money second. A custodial tool takes your money, holds it, and pays the affiliates itself. That is what the cut pays for. A non-custodial tool works out what you owe and calls your own PayPal or Wise to send it. The money never leaves your name. The custody page puts every vendor's own words side by side, and the regulators article explains why the two cost different amounts.

The payout fee third, with the worked example above. The price shape fourth. A flat price suits a program that is already large. A banded price suits one that is starting, because the first band is cheap. The fifth check is the quiet one. Your affiliates have links out there already, on the old tool's parameter. AffiliateRail's script reads nineteen link parameters, including the other platforms' names, so those links keep converting after a move. The switch guides cover each tool's export.

Which is the best affiliate software for a SaaS?

In shortThere is no single answer, and any page that gives one is selling something. By situation: on Stripe with a few affiliates and no budget, PromoteKit's free tier. On Paddle, Chargebee or Lemon Squeezy, the table says who connects. Paying more than a few affiliates a month and wanting the payout to run itself from your own account, AffiliateRail from $59. Running resellers and deal registration, PartnerStack.

The established Stripe-native three are Tolt, Rewardful and FirstPromoter. Rewardful lists in writing what it writes to your Stripe account and what it cannot do. FirstPromoter reads five billing systems. Tolt's Chargebee guide covers both the custom-field route and the API route. Each takes, or does not publish, a cut of payouts, and each is banded by revenue. Their pages are here: Tolt, Rewardful, FirstPromoter.

The cheap entries are Affonso from $15, refVenue at $25, Refgrow and Partli at $29, and the free tiers on PromoteKit, Endorsely and refVenue. The partner platforms are PartnerStack, Impact and Dub, built for programs with marketplaces, deal registration and networks, priced for it, and covered on the partner software page. Tapfiliate, Trackdesk and LeadDyno span ecommerce and other channels as well as SaaS.

AffiliateRail's case is narrow on purpose. SaaS on Stripe or Paddle, unlimited affiliates on every plan, the script fills the click id itself, and the payout runs on a schedule from your own PayPal or Wise at 0%. From $29 a month founding, with 14 days free and no card. If your program is not SaaS, or not on those two billing platforms, several tools above fit better, and this page says which.

What does a good program need from the tool?

In shortSix pieces. A link and a cookie for each affiliate. A read of your billing system so a sale is matched without anyone typing it in. Commission rules that handle refunds and upgrades. A portal where the affiliate sees their numbers. A payout that runs on a schedule. And tax forms, if you pay Americans.

Imagine you register on a Monday. On AffiliateRail the program comes seeded: a default group, a 20% commission flow, a 14-day holding period, a 20.00 minimum payout in your currency, and sample data offered on an empty dashboard. A holding period is the wait between a sale and the commission becoming payable, so refunds can land first. You connect Stripe or Paddle, paste one script tag, and invite your first affiliate. By Friday a test sale has run the whole loop.

Every tool on the table does some version of those six pieces. The differences are in the defaults, the rules, and the money. The affiliate program software page walks the six pieces one at a time and names the tool that does each best. The manual covers what to decide before you pick any of them.

Common questions

What is the cheapest affiliate software for a SaaS?

Four tools have a free tier: PromoteKit to three referrals, Endorsely to $1,000 of affiliate revenue, refVenue, and PartnerStack's Spark plan, which takes 10% of every commission. Under $30 a month: Affonso from $15, refVenue at $25, and AffiliateRail, Partli and Refgrow at $29. The cheapest tool on the bill is the one whose payout fee is nothing, so run your own volume through the calculator before picking by price.

Which affiliate software works with Paddle, Chargebee or Lemon Squeezy?

Every tool on the table that states a billing system reads Stripe. Ten read Paddle. Three read Chargebee: Tolt, FirstPromoter and LeadDyno. Four connect to Lemon Squeezy: Endorsely, Refgrow, refVenue and Partli through its API, and Lemon Squeezy has its own program built in at 3% of each referred order. Three connect to Polar. AffiliateRail reads Stripe and Paddle.

What is a payout fee in affiliate software?

A cut the tool takes from the money on its way to the affiliate, on top of the monthly price. Dub takes 5%, PartnerStack 10%, Rewardful 3% on Managed Payouts, Tolt 2% plus $8 an invoice, Reditus 2% by invoice or 5% by card, and Impact 20% past the $2,500 a month its plan includes. Tools that pay from your own PayPal or Wise take nothing, so on $2,500 of monthly payouts the difference runs from $0 to $250.

Does affiliate software need a credit card to try?

Not on most of them. AffiliateRail, Tolt, FirstPromoter, Reditus and Komissio give 14 days with no card. Partnero and LeadDyno give 30 days. Refgrow gives 7 days. Partli gives 7 days and takes a card. Endorsely, PromoteKit and refVenue have a free tier instead. Impact takes a card when you register and charges it when the first partner actions are tracked.
