No PromoteKit importer exists yet, so this move runs on a CSV: export your affiliates and their history, or pull them through PromoteKit's API, and AffiliateRail's importer loads them with a dry run first. Your affiliates' links keep converting, because our tracker reads PromoteKit's via parameter as well as our own. Plan an afternoon. Or hand it to us and we run the whole migration with you.
01 Stage 1
PromoteKit's affiliate link ends in ?via=abc123 (their docs, checked 3 September 2026). Our tracker reads via, along with the generic ref and aff. An old link lands on your site, the script reads the parameter, and the referral goes to the same affiliate. Nobody edits a link.
The parameter list ships in the tracker itself, so you can read it in the script your own site serves.
02 Stage 2
There is no PromoteKit importer yet, so the move runs on CSV. PromoteKit's API lists affiliates, referrals, commissions and payouts (checked 3 September 2026), so you or we can pull them into a spreadsheet. The importer takes three files:
03 Stage 3
Add our script beside PromoteKit's. Both trackers run, and ours reads their links, so nothing is lost while both are on. Watch a few referrals land and compare the two dashboards.
PromoteKit's referral cookie lasts 60 days by default (their pricing FAQ, checked 3 September 2026). A visitor referred last month still carries it. A month of overlap lets those referrals convert on the old side before you close it.
04 Stage 4
On PromoteKit you pay affiliates yourself. The Generate Payouts tab produces a CSV. You upload it to your own PayPal Business account for Mass Payments, or your own Wise Business account for Batch Payments (their payouts docs, checked 3 September 2026). Default terms are NET-15. PromoteKit takes no fee and holds none of the money.
AffiliateRail keeps that principle and removes the upload. From the $59 Grow plan, payouts run through your own PayPal or Wise account on a schedule, at 0%.
Step by step
Most merchants do this in an afternoon. If you would rather hand it over, we run migrations white-glove: a screen-share and an hour, and we do the rest. Email support@affiliaterail.com.
Connect Stripe. The connection is read-only: we read subscription events to credit sales, and we cannot write to your Stripe account.
Pull affiliates, referrals and commissions through their API, or ask their support for a CSV. Put each affiliate's PromoteKit code in the referral token column.
Map the columns, read the dry run, then run it. Check the counts against your PromoteKit dashboard.
Old links credit from this moment. Your affiliates' email, links and balance are already there when they arrive.
Remove the PromoteKit script once you have watched a few referrals land on our side, and pay any final balance from PromoteKit's payouts CSV.
Said plainly
A migration page that lists only the good news is an advert. These do not come across.
Your affiliates set a new password from their invite to the new portal. Their identity, links and balance are waiting for them. Their old login is not.
We import people and money, not PromoteKit's visit records. Click counting starts fresh on our side.
A visitor referred last week carries PromoteKit's attribution, not ours. The moment they click any affiliate link again, we credit them. No vendor can transfer another vendor's cookies.
PromoteKit's affiliate promo codes are Stripe coupons matched to affiliates. AffiliateRail tracks coupon codes too, but each code is set up again on our side, one per affiliate.
PromoteKit campaigns do not map one-to-one onto AffiliateRail programs. If you run more than one campaign, email us before you import and we will plan the split with you.
Cost
Both products band pricing by monthly affiliate-earned revenue. Checked against PromoteKit's pricing page on 3 September 2026. Free covers your first three referrals. Pro is $39 a month, or $29 a month billed yearly, to $10,000 a month. Above that is Enterprise, priced by conversation. Every plan says no transaction fees, and that holds for payouts as well: there is no PromoteKit fee on them.

Neither side takes a payout fee, so the table is the whole bill. The difference in each row is who does the payout work: on PromoteKit you upload a CSV each month, on AffiliateRail's $59 plan the run is scheduled. Run the totals at your own volume.
Questions
Yes. PromoteKit links carry the via parameter, and our tracker reads it, along with ref and aff. A link published a year ago credits the same affiliate from the day the script goes on your site.
Not yet. The importer reads Rewardful, FirstPromoter, Tapfiliate, Tolt and Affonso directly, and takes a CSV from anything else. PromoteKit's API lists affiliates, referrals and commissions, so the export is a script or a support request away. We build a direct importer when a customer asks for one.
Portal passwords, visit records, cookies already set on visitors' devices, promo codes, and campaign structure. Affiliates, their links, their referred customers and their commission history do come across through the CSV.
