There is no Dub importer yet, so this runs on CSV. Export your partners, customers and commissions. The importer does a practice run first. Published links keep paying, because our script reads the via tag Dub uses. The real change is the money. You stop paying 5% of every payout. You start paying from your own PayPal or Wise. Plan an afternoon. Or hand it to us.

01 Stage 1
Dub reads a via tag on landing and stores a click id it calls dub_id (their doc, checked 5 September 2026). Our script reads via too, plus seventeen other platforms' tags. So a link a partner posted two years ago pays the same person from the day our script goes on.
One thing does not carry. Dub's own short links redirect through Dub. They stop when the account closes. Re-issue those from the new portal first.
02 Stage 2
There is no Dub importer yet, so the move runs on CSV. Dub has a REST API and an MCP server on every paid plan (their docs, checked 5 September 2026), and the dashboard exports partners and commissions. Pull them into a spreadsheet. The importer takes three files:
via slug in the referral token column. That is what keeps old links working.03 Stage 3
Run both for a month. Compare sales, not clicks. The two scripts will never agree on clicks, and that gap is not a fault.
Dub keeps charging while you overlap. Its $2.5K payout allowance and its 5% fee both still apply. So close the old account once one full payout run has finished on the new side.
04 Stage 4
This part changes most.
On Dub, partners are paid through Stripe. Dub's terms say it is not responsible for a commission until you have paid in full. You pay 5% of every payout for that. Enterprise pays 3%.
On AffiliateRail you connect your own PayPal or Wise. AffiliateRail logs in on your schedule and pays from there. The money goes from you to your partner and never through us, so the fee is 0%. Your partners enter their payout details again, because those belong to whoever pays them.

This is why the 5% exists. Dub sits in the payment chain, and moving other people's money is a job that carries real regulatory weight.
Step by step
Three words first, because the steps use them. A dry run is a practice import that writes nothing. It tells you what it would have created. A referral token is the bit inside an affiliate link that names the partner. Keeping each partner's old one is why published links carry on working. Attribution is the job of deciding which partner gets credited for a sale. Most merchants do this in an afternoon. If you would rather hand it over, we run migrations white-glove. A screen-share and an hour, and we do the rest. We finish inside two working days of getting your details. Email support@affiliaterail.com.
Connect Stripe or Paddle. The link is read-only. We read billing events to credit sales. We cannot write to your account.
Partners, customers and commissions, from the dashboard or the API. Keep each partner's via slug. It is what keeps their old links paying.
Map the columns. Read the counts. Check them against your Dub dashboard. Only run it for real when they match.
From now on every old Dub link pays its partner, because our script reads via. Nobody edits a link.
Send the email. Run both for a month. Watch one payout run finish on the new side before you close Dub.

Said plainly
A migration page that lists only the good news is an advert. These do not come across.
Your affiliates set a new one from their invite. Their identity, links and balance are waiting. Their old login is not.
Those redirect through Dub and stop when the account closes. Links to your own site with via keep working.
Dub's marketplace is theirs. Partners you found there stay yours. The listing does not come with you, and AffiliateRail has no equal.
If you embedded Dub's dashboard in your app on Advanced, that ends. Partners get a branded portal on your own domain instead.
People and money move. Click-by-click traffic does not. Click counting starts fresh.
Bank details belong to whoever pays, and that is about to be you. Collect fresh W-9 and W-8BEN forms too. The payer has changed.
Cost
Dub charges a plan price, then 5% of everything you pay out. So its column climbs as you grow. Ours does not. This table assumes you pay a 25% commission. Earn $20,000 from affiliates and you pay out $5,000. Checked against Dub's pricing page on 5 September 2026.

Dub's plan price never moves in that table. The bill still quadruples. The 5% grows with the very thing you are trying to grow. That is the whole difference, and it is arithmetic. What the table cannot show is Dub's marketplace and its in-app dashboard. AffiliateRail has neither. If those are why you are on Dub, the bigger bill may be the right one.

It stays with Dub, and AffiliateRail has nothing like it. Partners you found there stay your partners and come across in the import. You will not get new ones that way. It is the clearest reason to stay.
Two things. Set a password from their invite. Enter their payout details, because those belong to whoever pays them, and that becomes you. Their links, customers and balance are already there. One email covers it.
